# Add your roster

> Add your players so you can attribute notes and request consent.

Add each player on your team. For every player you enter:

* **Full name**
* **Jersey number** (optional)
* **Birth year** (year only — never a full birth date)
* **Position** (optional)

You need at least one player to continue.

  **Why birth year and not a birthday?** RinkNotes only needs the age group, so it stores
  the birth **year** and nothing more precise. There's no place to enter a full date of birth.

Names are stored **only under consent** and never leave your team without it. Adding a
player to your roster is safe — the next step is asking their parent for consent before
any notes are captured about them.
