Most RinkNotes teams are **youth teams**, where each player's parent grants consent. That's the default. But RinkNotes also runs **adult teams** — junior, college, senior, or rec — where there's no parent to ask. On an adult team, the **player consents for themselves**, holds their own account, and reads their own feedback directly. ## What changes on an adult team The capture-and-review core is identical. What changes is **who consents** and **who receives**: * **The player consents for themselves.** No parent request, no parent in the loop. * **The player holds their own account** and reads their own feedback on their own page. * **There's no parent portal and no parent reports** — an adult player's feedback goes to the player, not to a family. Everything else — the consent gate, capture, review, outputs — works exactly as it does on a youth team. A side-by-side comparison: on a youth team the parent grants consent and the player never signs in; on an adult team the player consents for themselves and holds their own account ## Switch a team to the adult model Every team starts on the **parent (youth)** model. Changing it is a **club admin** decision — a coach can't do it on their own. On the team you want to change, go to the **Roster & Consent** tab. A club admin sees a control headed **Who consents for this team**, with two choices: **Parent (minor)** and **Player (adult)**. If you don't see it, you're not an org admin on this club. Switch it to **Player (adult)**. From then on, the team runs on self-consent. This is the same setting an admin manages across the club — see [Managing consent across the roster](/club-admins/consent-management#youth-teams-and-adult-teams). ## Getting adult players set up Setting up an adult team is a little hands-on for now. The consent model, each player's own account, and their own feedback page all work — and we're finishing the in-app step that lets you send players their self-consent invites straight from the roster. Until that lands, **getting in touch is the quickest way to set one up** — the RinkNotes team will help you send those invites. Once a player has accepted and consented for themselves, they read their own feedback on their own page — the same feedback, game stats, and things-to-work-on a parent would see on a youth team, but going straight to the player. No legal advice here — RinkNotes lets a club choose the consent model that fits the team and records the choice. Whether an adult model is right for a given team is your club's call.
