RinkNotes began with the hockey season, but a season isn’t the only shape it runs. The capture-and-review core is the same everywhere — you speak notes, a coach confirms them, they become feedback, stats, and things to work on. What changes is the container around it.

Team

A roster you follow across a season. The default, and where most coaches start.

Skills camp

A short run of numbered sessions with a snapshot after each and one report at the end.

Tryout

Evaluate trialists across a few sessions, then promote the ones you select onto a team.

How they differ

Who creates them

Your first team comes from the setup wizard the first time you sign in. Additional teams, camps, and tryouts are created by a club admin from the team switcher (the team tile at the top of the sidebar or capturer) — look for New skills camp and New tryout at the bottom of the menu. If you don’t see those, you’re not an org admin on this club; ask whoever set the club up.
A camp or tryout is its own space with its own roster and staff — it doesn’t mix with your season team. Switch between all of them from the same team switcher.

Two more things RinkNotes handles

Goalies

A distinct position with its own drills, reports, and game vocabulary — on a team, a camp, or a tryout.

Adult teams

Junior, college, or senior teams where the player consents for themselves — no parent in the loop.
